Legal in California.

With a specialized nozzle, the Pulsefire can adhere to California’s 10-foot range limit.

Exothermic Technologies installs a fan type nozzle producing incredible atomization creating a short distance fireball on the Pulsefire® – CA Version, reducing the output distance to less than 10 feet.

Nozzles are replaceable for those out-of-state trips or a transfer to a new owner in a more freedom-oriented state.

The specialized design of the nozzle orifice causes the fuel stream to spread in a wide vertical fan pattern.

This results in a much better air-fuel mixture, meaning when that fuel ignites, it’s going to be much hotter and burn much quicker, keeping the effective distance well under the 10-foot regulation by the fun police.

Health and Safety Code – HSC 12750 – 12761

(a) “Flamethrowing device” means any nonstationary and transportable device designed or intended to emit or propel a burning stream of combustible or flammable liquid a distance of at least 10 feet.

The State Fire Marshal shall seize any flamethrowing device in the possession of any person who does not have a valid flamethrowing device permit issued pursuant to this part.

The CA code specifies a stream of fuel. With a fan type nozzle, it is no longer a stream, but more of a dispersed scatter of fuel. It is also not designed or intended to reach 10 feet.
