Most of the FAQ answers relating to the Pulsefire® LRT also apply to the UBF.
Not that we're aware. We tested extensively with a SCAR chambered in .308, a firearm configuration known for being harsh on attached devices, and experienced no failure. We've seen it attached to a .50 BMG and operate without issue.
Not that we're aware. We've had it attached to numerous short barreled firearms without issue, and so have our customers. We have a shield above the unit that helps deflect the blast.
In order to comply with regulations and avoid requiring permission from the state fire marshal, pyrotechnics license, etc., the Pulsefire LRT is equipped with a short range nozzle. See more details here.
Unfortunately, the same nozzle installed on the Pulsefire UBF results in a very hot flame right by your hands. It is not a comfortable experience. Since the LRT isn't a big seller in California, we made the decision to not sell the UBF in California. You can always install the short range nozzle yourself if you have a standard UBF.

THE PULSEFIRE LRT SYSTEM IN AN UNDERBARREL FORM FACTOR
With the same 25-foot reach*, this compact configuration maximizes versatility. Use it fully handheld, mounted to a picatinny equipped device, or even with the Pulsefire Backpack Kit.
25-FOOT REACH*
With the press of a button, the pump draws fuel from the reservoir and sends it through the nozzle, simultaneously igniting it.
RUNS ON GASOLINE
Lay it on its side, extend the built-in kickstand, and fill the non-pressurized reservoir like any other outdoor tool. Uses gasoline or a gas/diesel mixture (up to 50% diesel).
BATTERY POWERED
A rechargeable lithium ion battery powers the fuel pump and ignition system.
ARC IGNITION
Ready when you need it with continuous electric arc ignition. No need to fumble around with a pilot torch to start this party.
20-SECOND CAPACITY†
Enough firepower to handle most tasks. Expandable to over 4 minutes capacity using the Pulsefire Backpack Kit.
MODULAR
Picatinny adapter fits the included handle when standalone use is desired, or any picatinny equipped device for underbarrel fun.
THE SAFEST WAY TO APPLY FIRE
We’ve sold numerous Pulsefire systems to the general public, firefighters, farmers, controlled burn prescribers, and members of the U.S. Forestry Service. While the UBF is focused more on novelty, it’s still capable of typical long range torch use.

BUILT TO LAST
Billet aluminum. Robotic welds. 100% fluoroelastomer seals. We take pride in our products and stand behind them with a lifetime warranty. With over 50,000 sold, there’s a reason we’re #1 in the industry.
Specifications for reference only. Minor variations may exist due to manufacturing tolerances. *25 foot reach is under ideal conditions with standard nozzle installed. †Available fuel emission time may vary with fan-type nozzle installed. In our testing, a 30% increase is typical.

Like a lot. Especially the battery power for the igniter. No more propane fuel to burn the pilot. Mounts to AR perfect. Looks BadAss.
