Sorry, the backpacks are only available in OD Green. They can be stripped and refinished by any competent powder coater, though.

The Tank is great quality and works well however the braided line causes stress on the connection going to the fuel pump this causes the fitting to strip and work its way free causing the line to leak. I’m on my 2nd fuel pump.
Hey Marc, I’m sorry to hear that! I can’t find any record of you reaching out to our team about this issue. As you know, we have a lifetime warranty and if there was a fault in the original assembly (either over-torqued or under-torqued), we would absolutely cover this. This is the first we’ve ever heard of such a thing occurring, and we’ve sold a LOT of LRT and backpack kits over the years, many in extremely heavy usage (near-daily) by agricultural industries. We use extremely flexible corrugated PTFE core stainless braid hose to prevent any unnecessary stress, while providing the durability and electrical conductivity required for safe use.
I will mention that the most important instruction in attaching the backpack kit to the LRT is that you must hold the fitting that is installed in the fuel pump and tighten the hose fitting onto it. Without adequately holding the pump fitting while tightening the hose end on, the fitting in the pump will be over-torqued and result in thread damage potentially leading to a leak situation. That is the only time we’ve seen thread damage/leaks occur. It has been a long time since we’ve seen that issue come up, as our paper and video instructions are very thorough and we strongly encourage all users to watch the video version. We try to make our instructions and videos as useful and concise as possible, and our team in Florida is available for calls and emails to provide any support needed. All we ask is that you give us the opportunity to make things right, as we stand behind our products and we’ve put a lot of effort into the development of them – we hate to see an outlier issue like this shared as though it is the norm. Something out of the ordinary is occurring in this situation, and we would have been glad to correct it.
Tank works like a charm with the UBF thrower. Holds enough for lighting 5-6 brush piles Texas size. A must have to go with your Flamer of choice. If I could double stack for more capacity….
I really enjoyed the initial purchase of the LRT. However , the addition of the backpack tank was a real game changer . I can now do a perimeter burn around large fires as a fire stop . And use this confidently to burn out large hornet hives , and horse head weeds . ( round up resistant). Also , feels like the backpack tank lasts a good long time . This purchase Really completes this product! It is a must have with the main unit . Also tank install was a snap , instructions where clear and easy to follow. Please enjoy safely.
